Just when you think you're at your pain threshold, Newcastle united show you that you're not.
Time and time again I keep talking myself into an optimistic outlook. Things will get better; soon.
The truth is, it might - but the issue is - how long must we wait to have a football team that can actually entertain the paying fans?
We seem to buy players that show 10 minutes promise until something goes wrong - then they suddenly turn into below average footballers on high wages.
I'm at the end of my tether to be fair. I'm sick of seeing those performances. They reek of simply not giving a feck.
The first half against Norwich, I just sat back and thought, 'how can we play football like this knowing we are in the fight of our season to stay in this league'...
I then started to convince myself that Rafa had set them out to do this to soak up Norwich pressure and then change it around in the second half to them go on a mission to destroy Norwich.
Weirdly, when he used his subs, I thought,'ah, here we go, this is better - maybe I was right'...
Just when we get back into it and actually look like we could go on and win this, we then collapse each time. It was as if when we scored, we immediately went into a "oh shit, we're crap" and then go into nervous mode to allow Norwich straight back into the game.
As soon as we got to 2-2 I just had the horrible gut wrenching feeling that we would concede a third and lose the game - and we did exactly that.
A draw would have gave us a fighting chance - but this defeat leaves us walking through the desert carrying the camel, not the other way round.
Only a miracle of sorts can save us this season.
Something ridiculous will have to go wrong for us to stay up.
Basically Norwich and Sunderland would have to lose all their players to injury whilst we get all ours back, to then sneak over the line.
I wish we had a squad of Mitrovic like attitudes - but unfortunately for every Mitrovic minded player in our squad, we have 10 that have the heart of a pea and the mind of a spoiled child.
If this is the best that Rafa can do - putting player's like Anita at left back and starting Cisse ahead of Mitrovic and bringing Tiote in who clearly only decides to give a feck when it suits, then we might as well have stuck with Carver.
I know people can say, ' ah we can't blame Rafa' and what not. Maybe not in one respect but he's had enough time to at least do SOMETHING with the team/squad and yet this is what we get on the pitch and he decides to drop Mitrovic who rescued a point from the Mackems - to play Cisse who is another one who looks like he only gives a feck when it suits.
I mean, look at the miss from Cisse. Ok he was offside but he didn't know that.
Sometimes I wonder if they do it on purpose.
The times we shoot 10 mile over the bar, I often wonder if it's deliberate because I just can't fathom how a professional footballer on top class wages and who are internationals, can miss as badly as that.
Understandable if they're under pressure.
Anyway I'm just ranting now.
I'm not going to bother to evaluate the game, as it's just not worth it.
All I'll say is, well done to Mitrovic.
